We'll compare it against your detected public IP and explain whether port forwarding from the internet is possible.

Learn more about public vs private IPs

Public IP

A public IP is globally routable on the internet. It's what remote services need in order to reach your home network directly.

Private IP

Private IP ranges (like 192.168.x.x) are used inside local networks. They cannot be reached directly from the internet.

CGNAT

Carrier-grade NAT (100.64.0.0/10) means your ISP is sharing a public IP among many customers. Port forwarding usually won't work without ISP changes.

Double NAT

Double NAT happens when your router is behind another router or modem. Even with a public WAN IP, inbound connections may stop at the upstream device.
